Happy Tuesday, everybody.
We published a new episode for you (over a week ago, whoops) but I neglected to send out an email, so I’m sending it now, in case you missed it. Thank you for your patience!
Since not long after the car was invented, we have wanted to stick wings on them and fly them through the sky. This week, we interview writer Gideon Lewis-Kraus about the surprisingly long history of actual, working flying cars in America. Plus, what it's like to actually fly in a modern flying car.
Flying Cars of Yesteryear
The Waterman Arrowbile Roadable Aircraft
The Taylor Aerocar
As always, if you’d like to support the show, and get ad-free versions of our episodes, along with exclusive bonus episodes, the place to do it is at searchengine.show.
We actually published a short bonus episode on the feed this past Friday, there’s an embedded link below, although I think you can only listen if you’re a paid subscriber. Otherwise, we have a relatively serious breach in our security and I will have to lock down the entire facility.
Okay, we’ve got a new episode for you this Friday. Just as a heads up and a bit of a content warning, that episode does discuss content warnings. I like this next one, excited for you to hear it.
Alright, see you in a few days. And if you’d like to subscribe to this newsletter, you can do so below.
Best,
PJ
Considering all the ways this title could be written, I thought this way was great. For enjoyers of flying utilities, Colin Furze made a hover bike https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soxxPyaAT1k if anyone could be persuaded to make a homemade flying car I think it would be him.
I think the Spotify feed is messed up. The ads are cutting in over the interview and there no Outro? It just kind of ends on an ad. Super interesting, tho… I want to hear the whole thing!
